Graciously sponsored by The Biking Lawyer!
Come share your ideas, socialize, and enjoy a meal with us, and connect with other people who are interested in creating a more vibrant and walkable Toronto for everyone.

Tickets are available to purchase here: https://www.cycleto.ca/pedestrian_summit_2026. The $25 cost covers expenses for the venue and meal. November 16 2025: World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Location: Queen's Park, South Lawn. Second year holding it in front of the legislature whose members are recklessly trying to get as many Ontarians killed in preventable car crashes as possible. Start gathering at 4:30pm for a 5:00pm start.
Join us on Sunday Nov 16 for the annual World Day of Remembrance event to remember all of the loved ones who have been killed and severely injured in crashes, both on #TODeadlyStreets and around the world. They are never forgotten, and whether you are grieving for a loved one or struggling after surviving being struck, you are not alone.
In these deeply troubling times, the government of Ontario continues to actively wage a war on road safety, 1 year after trying to rip out our best complete streets (Bill 212). Now they have killed our Speed Safety Camera program (Bill 56), and are about to block any reallocation of any road space away from cars to implement speed-calming road diets or build complete streets (Bill 60). We can't scream it loudly enough: our provincial government is going to get more innocent people killed. We must remind them what's at stake. This isn't about a few seconds of driving convenience or aggrieved motorists, this is about who lives and who dies on our streets. It's about shattered families, and heavy life sentences of devastation, anguish, grief and loss, all of which is so easily preventable.
If you have a battery-powered candle, please bring it, as well as any signs or photos of loved ones. We will provide memorial posters and battery-powered candles, too.

November 17 2024: World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

Join us at Queen's Park at 4:30pm for a 5:00pm start time. This event features speakers personally devastated by road violence, a memorial name-reading ceremony, and a candle-lit march around Queen's Park. Join us in demanding that the provincial government not pass Bill 212 and not rip out our safest and most-used complete streets, along with preventing safe streets from being built anywhere else in the province. If our safe streets are ripped out and other municipalities are not allowed to build them, more people will be killed in crashes that would otherwise have been prevented. It is horribly callous for our elected leaders to actively try to get more road users killed instead of building safe streets. FFSS members understand all too well the toll of inaction and regression on road safety. No amount of driving convenience is worth the anguish, grief and pain that has been unleashed on us in crashes caused by reckless motorists on dangerously designed streets.
We will provide memorial posters and road safety signs to hold, and battery-powered candles. If you have a battery-powered candle of your own, please bring it. Make sure to dress for the weather. Warm gloves/mittens make it more comfortable to hold signs.
If you have lost a loved one to road violence, they are not forgotten. If you have been devastated by road violence, you are not alone.
